I was more a fan of Nermal. Is that even how you spelled that cat's name?

My # 2 childhood disillusionment moment, after finding out that Santa and the Easter Bunny weren't real, was finding out that Nermal was a male.

OMG I was always convinced Nermal was a girl too!!

NO WAY, NERMAL HAD A GIRL VOICE. WHAT? WHAT? MY WORLD IS UPSIDE DOWN.

I had to take a moment to process the fact that Nermal was a male.

Okay.

But what I was really going to say is that Garfield was my favorite cartoon prior to The Simpsons. Garfield taught me sarcasm. Garfield taught me the beauty of naps. And then they made a crappy Garfield movie that lacked any sort of sarcasm or wit... not that I watched it... but the trailers were enough.
