Is UMass racist?

Even I'm insulted by this, I can only imagine how I'd feel if I were black...

The DC has decided to honor Black history month by cooking food that... comes from extreme stereotyping?

Yeah, fried chicken and watermelon and the like has become synonymous, at least in this part of the country, with racist stereotyping of blacks. But at the same time, it actually *is* part of a long tradition of Southern black cooking. I'm not saying UMass shouldn't have been a little more sensitive to how it might have been interpreted, but this doesn't look like blind racism on their part. Everything they served is legitimate soul food.
